Overview

This workshop is aimed at anybody who would like to create or improve an online website for personal or business use. The training subjects do not presume or require any specific knowledge other than how to operate a computer and using the Internet.

If you can answer yes to any of the following questions then this workshop is for you:

  • Do you want to start and maintain your own website?
  • Do you want to start an online business?
  • Do you have a limited budget or resources to create and maintain a website?
  • Do you want to improve your skills of running a website or online business?

We coordinate and can conduct workshops all over Europe if a sufficient number of participants is reached. Simply contact us to discuss any current and prospective workshops in your area.

All training subjects are hands-on which means each participant will get sufficient opportunity to exercise new knowledge and skills. We believe that the best way to understand and acquire new knowledge is by applying it in practive - as outlined in the secondary objective - by the end of this workshop you will have created a fully functional and operational website and be able to manage it.

Benefits

The main benefit that each participant will draw from this workshop is the increased chance of success in your endeavour. In addition participation in this workshop will also help you save finances as it will allow you to make cost-saving decisions and put opportunity in your hands.

Primary Objective

The primary objective of the workshop is to provide and equip each participant with the basic knowledge and insight on how to plan and operate an online website. This knowledge is vital no matter what kind of web site you want to run - personal or business - or in what current state it is.

In the years working with startup businesses and individuals a constant recurring point of failure was a lack knowledge and understanding of the online economy. Most people are focused on the idea of what they want to put online and are under the misconception that all you need is a domain name and a website. This perception could not be further from the truth.

It is no longer good enough to have a website online for everybody to see. As more and more traditional concepts and services such as search, product comparisons, marketing and communication are online based it means that your online presence is perceived and judged in comparison to the rest of the world and not just the local economy.

With this understanding the idea of an online website has now become a lot more complex because you now need to understand all the different services and concepts and how they affect your website and your ideas. Not having this basic knowledge and understanding means you are neither able to create a complete plan nor make able to make any informed decisions.

This workshop will give you a 360° view of the operations of an online website which includes some technical aspects - don't be alarmed - you don't have to be or become a professional. You will receive sufficient training and knowledge to put you in a decision-making position and to either carry out the tasks yourself or to manage someone who can do it for you.

Secondary Objective

The secondary objective of the workshop is to create and maintain a fully functional website. Many people are not aware or do not have sufficient knowledge about website technology (see primary objective). The questions on what solutions are currently available on the market, what do they offer and which solution is the right one for you will become more clear during the workshop and thus enable you to better plan your website - irrespective of whether you create it yourself or have a professional do it for you.

If you want to save on budget, love to be involved or simply want to expand your knowledge - then this workshop will not disappoint you. We will not only discuss some of the most widely used website technologies currently available but every participant will create a fully functional website during the course - all without coding or special knowledge. In this process the training will focus on providing you with the required terminology and orientation so that each participant will be able to manage the website.
